Mes Soeurs Sont Arrivées

We will have guests visiting for the next week or so - my sister Jess and her husband Josh, and my sisters Margaret and Brooke.  Margaret and Brooke arrived today around 10 am after a loooong flight.  Too early for mimosas?

For their first day in Paris, we took a walk over the Pont Neuf to the Île de la Cité.  First stop: Notre Dame.

We happened to arrive as Mass was being said.  Notre Dame is such a tourist attraction that they still allow visitors inside during the Mass -- they just rope off the center for the service.

The worship service was pretty full, and no one seemed bothered by all the people filing around the edges of the church taking photos as respectfully as possible.

The chanting during the Kyrie echoed throughout the cathedral, and the organ music was inspiring.  How could it not be, in such a setting.

We also stopped at Sainte-Chapelle, and then headed back to the apartment so our jet-lagged guests could have some much-needed sleep!
