FNAClive Festival

As promised, we returned for the Saturday night concert at the Hôtel de Ville.  The show was well under way by the time we arrived at about 8:30pm, and we only got to see the final two acts.

The free concert series is sponsored by FNAC which is kind of like the Ticketmaster operation in the US.  It was put together as part of the Paris Plages event.  I was impressed that they kept up the beach theme with these palm trees.

The show was between acts when we arrived and we just enjoyed people watching for a little while.  Parisians have no problem just sitting on the ground and picnicking anywhere -- no blankets or picnic tables necessary.  It seemed like everyone had brought dinner and drinks to enjoy while waiting in between bands.

The first act that we saw was a female duo called "Brigitte".  They came out wearing tinfoil-y costumes and inexplicably (to me, anyways) there was a fake goat on stage as well.  They had choreographed hand and dance moves and a very disco vibe.

Here is a video of their song "Oh La La".  They seem quirky and weird, which I love.  I wonder if "Cheerios" paid for the product placement?

Here's another one "Battez Vous":

The last act was Mademoiselle K.  She came out sporting a fantastically bright red mohawk.

Here is a video for her song "Jouer Dehors".

The venue itself was pretty amazing, especially once it got dark and the lights came on at Hôtel de Ville and Notre Dame.  What a great place to see a concert!
