Scenes from around Vernazza

Vernazza is not a very large town; it packs a population of about 1000 people into an area less than 5 square miles.  But some of those miles are vertical, so you are constantly looking up and down as you walk through the town so you don't miss any of the sights.

A stream used to run through the town to the sea but has been redirected.  This is one of the old bridges.

View of the town from the quay.

Looking down the hill to the right of the tower you can just see our balcony above the arched window.

I wonder who lives here?

Sunset drinks at the Bar Ananas by the beach

Sunset dinner on our balcony...fresh bread, mozzarella, pesto, olives, grapes and a local wine.

The sun sets after 8:30pm

Night scene in town - the dinner rush doesn't start until after sunset.
