Nordiska Museum

Today we decided to check out the Nordiska Museum, Sweden's largest museum of cultural history.  As the sign claims, it's a "great way to understand the Swedes".  Especially if it's raining outside and you want to stay dry for a couple of hours.

The building is enormous and it did in fact keep us busy for most of the rainy afternoon.  We also had lunch at the great cafe downstairs serving -- what else?! -- delicious Swedish meatballs, of course.

The museum was a bit dim inside so I didn't take many photos, but I couldn't resist taking one of the monumentally large wooden sculpture of King Gustav Vasa.

Here's one of Kevin with the statue just to give a sense of scale.  Impressive, no?
