On a whim we took the van up to Sedona for Easter weekend. The RV park we stayed at (Rancho Sedona) was right on the creek and just a ten-minute walk to the shops and restaurants in nearby Tlaquepaque.
Our first order of business on Saturday morning was to hit a few of the nearby wineries in the Cornville area just southwest of Sedona. Wine tasting…before noon? Is that bad?
It’s always smart to sample a few glasses of wine before attempting to hike in the desert, right? After the wineries and a picnic lunch, we decided to do an afternoon hike in Boynton Canyon.
It was a pretty easy hike, and a long stretch of the trail was shaded by ponderosa pines. There weren’t many other hikers out on the trail, and at times it felt like we had the whole canyon to ourselves. And the scenery in Sedona was breathtaking, as always. I hope our blog readers don’t mind seeing lots of shots of the van in front of various backdrops – this type of photography is becoming Kevin’s specialty.
